Leap Day

The morning class had an assembly that the afternoon class didn't.  So we took that time and made frogs to help us leap into Leap Day.

"That's Not Just A Tree"

So days I just have to laugh.  Today was one of those.  The morning class is out to recess.  I'm not sure what game they were playing, something about fire and volcanoes.  One little boy got hurt (pretend) and they carried him to their house.  Another boy said, "That's not just a tree.  That's something in camouflage."

Thanks for the good laughs!!!

The Challenge Is On!

Our school has just started a reading incentive program called Reading Around The World.  Our goal is to try and encourage more reading at home.  The goal is that each child reads or in our case, parents read to child, 20 minutes 5 nights a week. A slip has came home to record those minutes on and will come back to school next Tuesday.

We decided to make it a little bit more fun and have involved our 5th grade buddies.  We have challenged them.  We read more.....they give us a party.  They read more.......we give them a party.  So Read, Read, Read!!!!!!!

I know life is busy.  But reading is so important.  Remember to count the minutes others might spend reading with your child.  We need every ones help in order to read more than our 5th grade buddies.

Dental Health Month

A big shout out to the Wayne Community Health Center's Dental Clinic.  They came and talk with us about visiting the dentist and brushing our teeth.  Everyone was given a new teeth brush.

Parent Teacher Conferences

February 8th is Parent Teacher Conferences.  There will be no school that day for kindergarten students.  The office is trying something new this year, they are assigning appointments.  So watch for a paper to come home with your time on it.
